Strong Words of Warning!
General Warning
Seeking an experience with the paranormal may result in an unpredictable, unexpected, or undesirable consequence; caution is advised.
Physical and Emotional Harm
There are documented stories of individuals who have been physically and emotionally harmed as the result of contact with paranormal entities. The reason for this seems to be that one can never truly predict if the encounter will be “friendly” or “dark” and possibly demonic in nature. As a result, there should always be a conscious awareness that an encounter could result in negative emotions (i.e., depression and suicidal or homicidal thoughts) as well as physical signs and/or symptoms.
Opening the Door
People intentionally or unintentionally provide an opening for paranormal activity to occur. This is usually done through the use of Ouija boards, dowsing rods, and/or séances.
Another way people intentionally or unintentionally provide an opening for paranormal activity is through their disrespecting of sacred ground. Native American land, battlegrounds, burial grounds, and other similar locations are places where paranormal activity may manifest if disrespected.
Finally, there seems to be a steady rise in the amount of hobbyists who “search” for ghosts and other paranormal activity. These ghost hunters, toting an assortment of sophisticated electronic devices and cameras, often go to locations where paranormal activity has been reported. There, individuals often provoke spirits by speaking to them directly and asking them to do something, to make their presence known, or to possess them.
